COMPUTER BASED EVIDENCE ANALYSIS

We have extensive experience of crime scene reconstruction and evidence analysis which we combine with forensic reconstruction to enable the scene to be fully explored. Working from crime scene photographs and forensic data we can link all items of evidence to the forensic database of fingerprints and DNA.

Building the events as described by various witnesses enables us to test the validity of their statements when compared one with another. By plotting witness locations, what they had the potential to observe, and how long the events take to occur, it becomes possible to reconstruct the behaviour of witnesses in terms of movement, interaction with one another, and interaction with the environment. The minute-by-minute or second-by-second analysis of each event can then be observed and tested.

We have used these techniques very successfully in several cases, including the analysis of street and shooting incidents for the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland.
